Custom
Laminated Glass

Custom laminated safety glass engineered and manufactured in Perth using SentryGlas®, premium PVB, acoustic PVB, Vanceva® and PDLC interlayers for structural, cyclonic, privacy, acoustic and decorative applications.

Custom laminated glass, engineered around your project

Custom laminated glass permanently bonds two or more panes with a selected interlayer. The interlayer retains broken glass, improves safety and can add structural strength, acoustic control, cyclone resistance, switchable privacy or colour. Every panel is manufactured to order. Glass type, interlayer, thickness, fabrication and edge finish are selected for the intended application, with holes, notches, cut-outs, shaping and edgework completed before lamination.

Why Choose
Tough Glass

Grade A Safety Glass

Custom laminated constructions are manufactured to AS/NZS 2208 where applicable, with the interlayer retaining broken glass for improved safety.

Our Custom Laminated Range

ToughView™ uses the SentryGlas® ionoplast interlayer for exceptional strength, stiffness, edge stability and long-term clarity. It suits structural glazing, frameless balustrades, canopies, floors, walkways, façades and security glazing. Available in Clear, Low Iron, Tinted and Decorative Glass, with interlayers from 0.76mm to 3.04mm and a maximum size of 2460 × 5060mm.

ToughGuard™ uses premium PVB to create custom Grade A safety glass for most architectural laminated applications. It can use Clear, Low Iron, Tinted and Decorative Glass in 0.76mm interlayer increments. Maximum size: 2460 × 5060mm.

ToughStorm™ is designed for approved cyclonic systems in Region C and Region D. The complete glazing system is impact tested to AS/NZS 1170.2:2021 using a 4kg timber projectile and an 8mm steel ball travelling at 44m/s. Each panel is engineered for the nominated wind region and framing system.

ToughSwitch™ laminates PDLC film between two panes of Ultra Clear Glass. It is transparent when energised and translucent when power is removed. Annealed and toughened configurations are available, with a maximum size of 1800 × 5000mm. External glazing should use a ToughEco™ Plus IGU.

ToughSound™ uses specialised acoustic PVB to reduce unwanted noise. Depending on construction, it can reduce sound by up to 10dB within the transparent frequency range. Available in Clear, Low Iron, Tinted and Decorative Glass, up to 2460 × 5060mm, and compatible with ToughEco™ IGUs.

Vanceva® coloured PVB transforms laminated glass into a custom design feature. Sixteen foundational colours create thousands of transparent, translucent and opaque combinations. Available with Clear, Low Iron, Tinted and selected Decorative Glass. Minimum size: 400 × 200mm; maximum: 2400 × 5000mm.

Product Considerations

Glass type, thickness, interlayer and framing must meet the structural, safety, acoustic, thermal and aesthetic requirements of the project. Technical support and performance data are available.

All cutting, drilling, shaping, holes, notches, cut-outs and edgework must be completed before lamination. Finished laminated panels cannot be altered on site.

Where ToughGuard™ or ToughSound™ incorporates toughened glass, a minimum 1.52mm PVB interlayer is recommended.

ToughStorm™ glass alone does not provide compliance. It must be installed within the approved framing and glazing system tested for the applicable cyclonic region.

Electrical wiring, transformers and compatible neutral-cure, non-acidic sealants must be considered during design. External installations should use a ToughEco™ Plus IGU.

Final colour varies with glass type, thickness and interlayer combination. View a physical sample where colour accuracy is important.

Frequently Asked Questions

Choose ToughGuard™ for most architectural laminated applications. ToughView™ is suited where structural performance, exposed edges, greater stiffness or enhanced post-breakage strength is required.

Yes. Depending on the product, constructions can use Clear, Low Iron, Tinted and selected Decorative Glass. Vanceva® adds custom colour, while specialised interlayers add acoustic or structural performance.

Yes. ToughView™, ToughGuard™, ToughSound™ and ToughSwitch™ can be incorporated into a ToughEco™ IGU where combined safety, structural, acoustic, privacy or thermal performance is required.

Yes. Panels can include custom sizes, shapes, holes, notches, cut-outs and polished edges. All fabrication must be completed before lamination.

Yes. Laminated glass helps block up to 99% of ultraviolet radiation, assisting in protecting interior furnishings from fading.

When power is removed, ToughSwitch™ returns to its translucent privacy state.

Depending on the construction, ToughSound™ can reduce sound by up to 10dB within the transparent frequency range. Glass, interlayer, framing and installation all influence the result.

Not necessarily. Performance depends on glass thickness asymmetry, acoustic interlayer, cavity configuration, framing and installation. Our team can recommend a suitable build-up.
